To all the good folks back in SG, where we have shared countless pints and bottles of Asahi over happy hours in Kazbar, or at Tango's, Wala Wala, this post is for you.
It was a display outside Central Food Hall in Central World (remember, pronounced as Sen-Tahn Wer to sound local) and I can't help snapping away. How is it that Japanese have a way of blending old and new, East and West, popular and traditional cultures, that is so endearing! I see myself on a blustery late autumn evening in a small town in Hokkaido, pop my head into a small Japanese eatery like this one below, and proceed to be entertained by the owner and his wife taking care of another 3 or 4 other customers....

too bad it ain't for sale! Otherwise i'd ask you to get the 2 signs "Asahi Super Dry" and "Asahi Beer - Lager Beer for me.
nope, alas! were they supposed to go with your current collection of the Asahi bucket?? *grin*
