Time for a short weekend break

Went away for the weekend to Hua Hin.  I quite liked the place, it's a little quiet, but pleasant small seaside place where life is unhurried, and it's not totally given over to the tourist mass market.  Sure there were the usual tourist shops and hotels, but much more spread out, and they co-exisited amongst local businesses (for everyday life), unlike tourist enclaves of Phuket or Samui, where all you see are endless rows of souvenir t-shirts, fake CDs, tailors (!), dubious restaurants, etc.  On the way back, at dusk, we stopped at Amphawa Night Floating Market.  It's a colorful cheery place, the 2 sides of the klong are lined with cutesy toy shops, the boats are selling some streetfood, fruits, as well to take tourists to see fireflies at dusk.

The earlier is a photo I took, a few nights earlier, of Wat Arun - Temple of Dawn, at this nice bar of a boutique hotel (www.arunresidence.com).
