Celebration and Aftermath

As many of you have known, I have passed both Cuisine and Pastry with rather satisfying results! After the graduation ceremony, we adjourned to a restaurant for a good meal! Eat me restaurant on a side street of Soi Convent has pretty good food and nice ambience. A classmate brought along a Cristalchampagne, it tasted pretty good with some Tasmanian fresh oysters! At the end of your meal, they provide complimentary chocolate vodka served in a shotglass, which is essentially Mars bars melted down, mixed with vodka and kept frozen. Man, was spicy!

We then moved on to a Moroccan-inspired outdoor bar/cafe along Ekkamai soi 12, cool place! By then everyone was half-drunk, I had to watch myself as I will be having a phone interview early the following morning! It turned out to be a good idea, because this female classmate who insisted on driving me back was dozing off at the wheel, and hit kerb a few times!!! I asked to get a cab immediately, but she wouldn't allow. In the end, I offered to drive the car, and thus was my first time driving on the roads of Bangkok! Luckily at that hour, there was very light traffic, and I managed to go half way round Bangkok just to get home. Well, she couldn't
navigate, slumped on the chair. It prob did her good, cos' by the time I reached home and ran back home in fear, she seemed pretty ok to drive herself home. She wouldn't have it any other way in any case.

This morning, I had my phone interview, first of the kind, was rather casual and direct, it went well, at least what I think. Will see if this works out.

In any case, the stupid thing about the Ministry of Education here is that they will only support the extension of my student visa for only 2 days after my graduation. Who's able to pack up 9 months of belongings in just 2 days?! Well, I'm on a visa run now, gonna chill out in Luang Prabang, Laos for a few days! As a result, I have to extend my rent here till end of July, and plan to be back in SG beginning Aug. Happy holidays!

(p/s: My frangipani nursed itself to a wonderful ball of blooms, I'll be sad to give it away when I leave.)
