I spoke to a legal advisor yesterday about my current situation in Paris. She showed me a few legislative documents and I actually fall into a grey area. I have a good 'dossier', and the prefecture should be prepared to consider my case. However, only if I speak to the right person, the chief, or someone higher. Any others will wave me off too easily. And she recommended that Hediard lends its support in this by actively participating into this, this way, the one up there might prick up its ears to listen. Meanwhile all this is being sorted out, that I should stay on in Paris, on a student status.
Though I appreciate her advice, I don't think I will do this, I'm not sure if I can afford to just stay in Paris to wait and see, and on top of it, spend money to take a course again. If in the end, I've still to come back to SG to do my work visa, it'll be both a waste of time and money. I've already agreed with Hediard to go the 'work visa' way, so it's unlikely they'll do something so rushed and urgent in the (now even shorter) span of time I've left on my student permit. Already, I'm not sure if they'll "me laisser tomber" once I leave.
I'm not too happy with work these days, I don't know if it's psychological cos' I know I'm leaving soon. The others know, and they seem eager to know when I'm back. Right now, they're dumping a lot of their work on me to the benefit of having an extra pair of hands. They are really taking me for granted. Good for them, when I leave, they've only themselves to share out the work, happy or not. Every time when something is not in their favor, they'll only exclaim, 'il fait chier!' even if they're in the wrong, as if that'll solve everything. Unfortunately, I guess work is not synonymous with French. I'm just happy to have a good sous-chef who's in control of everything who listens.

i spoke to the HR manager for pushing with the prefecture for change of titre de sejour, she said it didn't work. there was a japanese guy who worked for a while as a wait staff (i met him once briefly when i first started work in Hediard, and after that he disappeared, presumably back to Japan to do his work visa), and his case is quite similiar to mine.
so, we're going to go the way of work visa then. i don't know where to put my hopes in it, cos' it's been 10 weeks since i last saw him... so.... the latest news is... no news.
