The Basmati Rice Experience

I realised that I haven't blogged about this : Recently, there was a reservation for 9pax at our restaurant, I don't know who they were, if they were Sgreans or Indons, but most likely an Asian family, because when the order came in, they wanted all the food to be sent out at the same time, chinese dinner style, and on top of it, they ordered plain white rice portions for 10 - served in a large casserole pot, family style.

And this was what the chef sent out.

Any self respecting French restaurant, esp one that calls itself fine dining, would have (____) *Fill in the blank yourself*

This is on top of rather regular orders of spicy pasta, tomato pasta, mushroom risotto, etc, which in itself, you may frown upon, but you cannot really fault it. But plain white rice cooked and served family style takes the cake.

Thus ends our basmati rice experience.

This is HILARIOUS.

It almost reminds me of the time when I was in Bhutan and the Indonesian family sitting next to our table brought along their canned food and instant noodles to be eaten with the Bhutanese meal served by the restaurant.
