I have been spending lotsa time in the weekends at Chatuchak market. Happily, it is not just another tourist destination to get your Singha singlet, lampshades and head back to that air-con cafe back near your hotel. It is a bustling, lively, action-filled place. You begin to remember which stall has the better teak carvings, which are just producing the generic souvenir, which corner has that cold, COLD beer to quench your thirst, and which one has ice-cream that taste like powdered milk.
I bought a Ganesh statue last weekend, it's really unusual, having large almond eyes, and in a standing position, I don't expect it to be really ancient, but it is definitely interesting.
Since I cannot get a fluffy puppy nor a cute kitty, I made do with some goldfishes I am currently rearing in an oldish blue-white porcelain. I started out with 2 black lionheads, and added a redcap lionhead, and now I've 2 calicot bubble-eyed goldfishes.
