Back to Singapore

Singapore still looks and feels the same, hot and humid, I easily slipped into T-shirt and shorts and flip flops in a matter of seconds. I've yet to check out the new malls on Orchard road, or Resorts World (though I'm not too keen on the latter). Had a great Chinese dinner with friends, and we came back ours, I made some impromptu chocolate mousse for coffee. Later on, 3 of us hit the bars in Tanjong Pagar for 2-3 drinks. Was refreshing to see some familiar faces, was also disturbing to see more and more faces we don't know, new younger generation, ok, it's true we're getting older now, soon, we'll be the dinosaurs exhibit at the corner of the bar with the rest of grouchy ah peks.

Sleep has been rather irregular, strangely, I don't feel tired at all. I'm waiting for my sleeping pills to arrive in the other boxes I sent out.

Talking about boxes, what a rude shock I got when I received the first box! It was in such a bad state that LaPoste pasted scotch tape all over, they must have smashed it around, made a huge hole, and some things fell out. I'm missing some items and others damaged. Even though I'm already leaving, why must Paris make it so difficult for me? I've 2 more boxes to arrive, I certainly hope they're in better shape.

At the airport yesterday, needless to say, I had excess baggage. I begged and begged, they managed to cut out a few kilos for me, but it still meant I had to pay abt 200euros for the rest. Each time I tell myself I won't do it again, I'll accumulate less stuff......but, it's the same familiar story again and again..... I hate airports! My personal advice is this, invest in some bathroom scales, weigh your luggage before you head to the airport. No matter how expensive the bathroom scales can be, it'll never beat the payment for excess baggage at the airport.

Next few days, I plan to ask around some restaurants here, think abt a business plan, make a good meal for friends, unpack and repack for a couple of weeks in Thailand.
